Will LiPo take over Lithium Ion batteries?

I know that in the RC world Lithium-Polymer is the near future of all electric cars. Will we see Lipo in cell phones and hybrid cars in the near future?

Not really.
Lipo’s have a great run time, low ish punch, and need very careful charging methods.
Lipo’s have been in certain phones, and they could certainly have applications in electric car, but the cost is prohibitive.
To be honest, i think LiPo will soon take a back seat to LiFepo4 batteries. Which have all the benefits of LiPo’s, with less of the draw backs.
