Why do the 100s of billions of galaxies form a cosmic web of galaxies rather than a set pattern?

Like billions of stars make spiral galaxies so why doesn’t billions of galaxies make 1 big spiral super massive galaxy of galaxies?

Limitations of gravity. Gravity is weak over intergalactic scales. But within a galaxy itself there is more than enough gravity to bring the stars spiraling in towards the center of mass in perhaps a disk shape.
Time limitations. It is thought that the ultra large scale structure of the universe appears homogeneous, ie if you looked at a picture of the universe much bigger than the observable universe. What that means is there is a pattern, its called smooth. Eventually the universe will colapse back down on itself, which means it will probably form a giant spiral due to the same reasons galaxys form spirals. Gravity is strong over short distances, thats why galaxys already are spirals, the big bang flung out matter faster than gravity could ever hope to pull it in. and to some degree it still is, just on the large scale/ and may keep doing so (big rip idea)
